What About Steve Goad?

Some say that Steve is a musical Renaissance man who can write music in numerous styles, play 8 different instruments (not counting the kazoo) and produce multimedia presentations to go with that music.

Some say that he is a "poor man's Forrest Gump" stumbling through different situations that bring him a fair amount of recognition (unfortunately, without becoming a millionaire in the process).

Still there are many people who just say "Who cares?"

IN REALITY...

Steve has enjoyed an interesting life. Steve was born the third child of a United Methodist Pastor. After his father passed away when Steve was eleven, he and his older sisters were raised by their mother, a registered nurse. With both his parents having degrees, Steve learned the value of a good education. As such, Steve went to college, and after 4 years in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, continued his education, earning a Masters of Divinity from Southern Methodist University.

Steve has held down many jobs in his life. He has been a pastor, a church media director, a worship leader, a director of a non-profit organization, a substitute teacher, president of an unsuccessful internet business, a bookstore clerk, a delivery driver, a door-to-door salesman, a salad chef, a nursing assistant, and even a telemarketer (a job to which Steve readily admits his dislike). Steve is currently serving as Media Assistant at Willow Meadows Baptist Church in Houston, as well as teaching guitar lessons and developing ItsaGodGig Music.

At age 46, Steve married his long-time fiance' Lisa. Now in their second year of marriage, they happily enjoy life with Theresa (a 40 year old woman with Down Syndrome with whom Steve and Lisa share guardianship), three dashchunds
, a chihuahua, and Steve's new boxer puppt, JoeC.

Through it all, however, two things have stayed with Steve: The music that has been a part of his life since his earliest days and the Lord, who Steve learned early to trust in every situation.

"Who am I?" Steve says. "I hope people know me simply as a Christian. If that's what people see in me, than nothing else matters."
